can we make a script to ssh to my self and start it than it would work fine, but I havnt got around logging into ssh from script. I also find it VERY strange that it works to start emulationstation when I ssh into it, and also if i use the terminal in desktop from touchscreen and ssh into the pi (within the pi XD ) it also works! BUT it doesnt work if I just type emulationstation directly into the terminal. Is anything else missing that I need to do? (I suck at linux) Hm okei, I tried this but it I only get a terminal windows that opens and closes. Icon=/home/pi/.openauto/icons/icon_retropie.png Note the path to the icon, you can put your icon where you want - I located it so that the shortcut and OAP could use the same icon. The desktop shortcut launches and games play no problem. I call the bash script from OAP and a desktop shortcut. PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/games sh script for emulationstation - only cause I wanted to try setting a path - but the path didn't seem to help. I've tried a few things - here is what is working so far:Ĭreated a bash. able to make the retropie launch from terminal but Im not sure how to add it to the application launcher inside openauto, what path did you use in openauto_applications.ini ? I'm thinking to look at that option and make multiple shortcuts in OAP - one for each rom. I do remember reading in the retropie docs that there is a way to launch a game directly from the command line. It's as if the emulationstation app needs the terminal process to return to in order to be able to launch the emulator of choice. I found it curious that launching from a terminal works fine, but launching the emulationstation menu from OAP causes different behavior. (I did try and put in -windowed as an argument, but this wouldn't load a game either.) However, when I add it to Applications in OpenAuto, emulationstation launches, I can navigate the menu, but when I pick a game, the screen goes back to the OpenAuto Applications list, then automatically goes back to the last screen that I was on when I chose the game from emulationstation. Everything works great when on the Raspbian desktop and I launch emulationstation from the command line. I installed RetroPie on the Raspberry Pi.
